Our Mobile Library

The mobile library is at the heart of the DÉCLIC approach. It's much more than a simple book lending service: it's a mobile space for learning, discovery and exchange that goes directly to meet secondary school students in Niamey's peripheral neighborhoods.

Our bookmobile serves 6 public secondary schools in peripheral areas, bringing hundreds of varied books each week: novels, documentaries, comics, educational magazines, and digital resources on tablets.

What makes our mobile library unique:

• Accessibility: We go to young people, not the other way around

• Diversity: A catalog adapted to the interests and levels of 11-15 year olds

• Animation: Interactive reading sessions, debates, literary games

• Proximity: Facilitators know the youth and create lasting bonds

• Continuity: Regular visits that allow monitoring and progression

Each week, over 300 secondary school students benefit from our reading activities, borrow books, and participate in activities that stimulate their curiosity and develop their love of reading.

The mobile library is the first step in the DÉCLIC journey, the one that awakens interest and plants the seeds of creativity.
